How to play word search
The word list under the grid shows every word hidden in the letters. Words can run left to right, top to bottom, diagonally, and on harder levels backwards too. Press on the first letter and drag to the last letter, then let go. On a phone you can also tap the first letter and then tap the last one. A correct word is coloured in the grid and crossed off the list.
Easy uses a 9×9 grid with forward words only, Medium a 12×12 grid in all eight directions, and Hard a 14×14 grid with more words. Pick a theme such as pets, farm animals, wild animals, pet care or sea life. Every game builds a new random puzzle, and your fastest time per level is saved on your device.
Tips to find words faster
- Hunt rare letters. Letters like Z, X, Q, K or a double letter stand out, so scan for them first.
- Scan one direction at a time. Sweep each row, then each column, then diagonals, instead of jumping around.
- Look for the first two letters together rather than single letters; pairs are easier to spot.
- Long words first. They cover more of the grid and reduce the area left to search.
- Use the hint to light up the first letter of a word you cannot find.
